Hey Folks,
I know everyone here is a big fan of GWS, but im regretful to say i just had a real bad experience with the service there. What happened was, just about a month ago, i took my car for a full service, they inspected the car and said only a oil filter and engine oil needs to be replaced. Just recently i started noticing a metal grinding sound being emitted from my front tire. Today the sound just got too loud and i was worried there was a fault in my brakes. So i swung past GWS to ask em to have a quick look at it, and if it was safe for me to keep driving. GWS said they can not look at it unless i book my car in for next week. They said the scrapping sound shouldnt be a problem and it was safe to drive. (at this point they never even looked at my car). Just being abit worried, i took my car to my usual body and repairs shop (B&A motors in clayton). Since my folks helped them to get the business up and running 15 years ago, they were more than happy to have a quick look. It took a total of 2 minutes for them to relise, i  had absolutely no brake pad left, and my brake rotors are completely worn. It was unsafe for me to drive anymore and they doult that if a situation arises for emergency braking, my car would stop at all. So i left my car there for them to comence repairs on Monday. So comeon guys, RWS could've caused a accident. All it took was a minute or two to have a look, i was rather shocked by their attitude, it was a complete "wtf you doing here" tone.

Well I actually heard other bad news on GWS, so I'm actually not that surprise to hear this. I haven't personally used GWS before and will probably never use it now that I've heard a couple bad news about them.

Glad you found out the source of the sound. If you want to get the oem brake pads, just be wary that the dealer will charge an arm and a leg for them. Best buy it online via www.onlinemazdaparts.com, buying from them usually is still cheaper (even plus postage) compared to what our dealer charge here in oz.

nah, im doing it with my personal body repairs, really dont want to trust the mazda dealer anymore, who knows what else they will forget to do. in a few more ks, im taking my car to promaz for a proper service. hopefully they will be better. Also, the body repair shop said it was because there was no pads that the rotors needs to be replaced as they are damaged.

I would suggest you have a word with the Senior Service Manager about this. Dont go there with the intention of chewing them out. Go there with the intention of advising them their staff are incompetant and if it wasnt for your own forsight to doubt their competance it could have resulted in a both damage or injury.

Wost case you get it off your chest. Best case they will replace the rotors and pads Gratis.

Cheers

Andrew
